PESHAWAR: Dr. Shahzad Bangash, Chief Secretary of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), has directed rigorous oversight of the Muharram processions taking place throughout the province.
To evaluate the security preparations for the 9th and 10th of Muharram on Monday, he went to the control room created in the Home and Tribal Affairs department.
On this occasion, Secretary of Home Khushal Khan briefed the chief secretary and stated that all majlis and processions are effectively monitored in the 14 districts of the province and that up to this point, no unfavourable occurrence has occurred anywhere.
The home secretary added that the district administrations, chief secretary’s office, and chief minister’s secretariat now have access to a unique programme that has been launched to monitor processions and majalis. All of the sensitive districts have also been subject to section 144.
